Welcome to Dandou Organics

Dandou Organics is a movement, a return to source—a deep reconnection with nature’s wisdom. Our organic superfoods, such as Moringa, Baobab, Bissap, and Kinkeliba, are nature’s own medicine, nourishing the Mind,  Body and Soil regenerating all of us as Nature (human Earth is one nature). Each product we offer is grown with care, honouring the rhythm of the earth and the women who cultivate them.

Our Mission

Our mission is not just about providing nutrient-dense foods; it is about empowering the women farmers behind them. By working directly with cooperatives in rural African communities, we create sustainable livelihoods while promoting regenerative farming. Choosing Dandou means more than just nourishing yourself—it’s about being part of a movement that nourishes both people and the planet.

Our Story

Dandou Organics is not just a business—it’s a living testament to the power of women, community, and ancestral wisdom.

It all began with Nia Yaku Neshama, a Senegalese-born visionary and spiritual eco-consciousness educator. Her journey was one of remembrance—of returning to the healing traditions of her grandmother, reconnecting with her family in the village of Nianing, and embracing the ancestral agricultural knowledge of Senegal. Inspired by Mr. Seydi, a banker the founder  of Dandou Senegal a GIE  as the ancient practice of nourishing Africa with its own grains, she knew this mission had to go beyond borders.

Dandou, meaning “Return to Source”, became more than a name; it became a movement.

The Dandou Movement

Nia gathered her mentees—women from different corners of the world, each seeking healing through Mother Earth’s rhythm. Together, they embraced the African philosophy of Motherism (Maternism), a way of living in harmony with nature, recognising that women are the keepers of life’s balance.

Natalie, a naturopath raised in Australia, understood that true healing is rooted in ancestral knowledge. She knew that if Africa is the birthplace of humanity, it must also be the steward of global wellness.

And so, the idea of the 15,000-mile journey for 15,000 women was born—a road trip from London to Dakar then  across the Sahel from Dakar to Djibouti, meeting women farmers, amplifying their voices, and ensuring that their ancient agricultural knowledge was preserved and valued.

But no great movement stands alone. Oumpely, daughter of the Calabash land, took charge as the Operations Manager, ensuring that Dandou’s vision was not just a dream but a structured reality. And as every circle must have balance, Geoff Matthews, the steady hand, became Dandou’s Treasurer, ensuring the numbers aligned with the mission. The Women who we have worked alongside have captured the essence of Dandou, reminding us to always follow Nature’s Nature—to honour simplicity, authenticity, and sustainability.

Our Togetherness Birthed Dandou Organics.

Our Name & Our Philosophy

The name Dandou means “Return to Source” in Fulani. It reflects our deep commitment to regenerating ancestral knowledge, restoring traditional agriculture, and reclaiming the wisdom of our elders.

In Guinee A Town name, “Dandou” is a call to return to what is essential—to take only what we need from the earth, to respect its cycles, and to reject the excess of consumerism
